Another Mexican from the desert so it has grey foliage. Possibly the lowest salvia, crawling about on the ground.
It can make a nice little ground cover with small bright blue flowers in summer.
Chionophylla is frost and drought hardy but no doubt would not like tropical humidity.
One or two available only
It can be propagated from cuttings or rooted pieces. I wouldn’t cut it back to nothing but you can tidy it up.
There is no other grey salvia which crawls around but chamaedryoides is small and grey and compact and about the nearest plant.
There are two other salvias which are crawly, the pretty blue flowered scutellariodes and red flowered cinnabarina, both like warm temperatures and shade.
