This is another fragrant elegans variety – the foliage tends to be purplish. It can be quite a spreading plant which loves moisture,  growing to at least a metre high.

Flowers are red tubular flowers as in the other elegans and frost tender,  though it would likely have stems underground that survive.

It has a very pleasant fruity smell.
