This is a very small American sage often known as cancer weed.  I haven’t researched anyone using it for cancer.

  It grows as a rosette with 20cm spikes of blue flowers in summer.   Then it self seeds!  The flowers are pretty but brief.

The species has green marbled foliage with maroon markings and lovely dark blue flowers.     Lyrata with all purple foliage tends to have pale  blue flowers.   It is evergreen and frost hardy.
